Director’s Note May 6, 2019

Good day Captains of Commerce!

We just finished the annual National Day of Prayer and Community Wide Sale (pictures below and on our Facebook page) plus the Clean-Up El Do campaign last Saturday. And this week is the Chamber of Commerce May Luncheon. Our luncheon partner is Mid Missouri Bank! We do hope you can join us!

Don’t forget, this Saturday support your Wayside Inn Museum at their biscuit and gravy breakfast from 7-10:30 AM, then walk to Main Street to see the 54 Cruisers Car Show then cap off the day with the Fraternal Order of Eagles dance! All 3 organizations are chamber members with events on Saturday! Then Sunday is Mother’s Day, make sure you show your appreciation to mom!

May is National Better Hearing Month. I recently made an appointment to see our chamber member hearing specialist Richard Leroux of Experience Hearing Center for a free hearing evaluation of a severe tinnitus (think of a high-pitched fire alarm in your ears 24/7). Richard is our area’s licensed/certified hearing professional. They (and I) encourage you to be more aware of your hearing health with regular hearing screenings (see the article in last week’s Chamber Chat). In celebration of National Better Hearing Month, Experience Hearing Center will share hearing health tips throughout the month of May on their Facebook page. Make sure you check it out!

FYI – There will be no city council meeting this evening (Monday, May 6, 2019).

Santa Paula Awning Company is our Chamber Chat “Featured Investor” this month.

Remember, ’tis a privilege to live in these Ozarks. Make it a great day,

W. Jackson Tough
CEO/Executive Director
